A cosy cottage in the heart of Wimbledon Village
This small 1800s Victorian cottage in the heart of Wimbledon Village, SW19 was in desperate need of rejuvenation. The goal was to maximise the living space, creating an open, light-filled environment that felt spacious while maintaining the cottage’s inherent charm.
To achieve this, we stripped the interior down to its bones, gutting and fully renovating the space. We reconfigured the ground floor layout by relocating the staircase, transforming the area into a seamless open-plan living room that flowed into a kitchen and dining area. Light paint colours and carefully selected materials were utilised throughout to enhance the feeling of brightness. A strategically placed roof light and corner bi-folding doors with a floating post brought in ample natural light, while several mirrors were added to bounce and reflect light, further amplifying the sense of space.
Every detail was meticulously curated to breathe new life into this Victorian cottage in Wimbledon Village, resulting in a home that exudes effortless charm and contemporary style. The transformation not only revitalised the structure but also created a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for modern living.
Tania managed the entire project, overseeing the building works and the installation of the kitchen and joinery.
