A lateral first floor apartment in a beautiful period residence

We completed a full interior refurbishment of this stylish two bedroom lateral apartment in a period residence in South Kensington, London.  This luxury residential interior design project offers an elegant blend of historical charm and modern living benefiting from a spacious layout that maximises natural light and flow throughout.

Original architectural details including high ceilings, large sash windows, ornate cornicing and ceiling roses were carefully preserved to celebrate the building’s historical charm.

These classical features were paired with refined modern elements such as a marble fireplace, bespoke cabinetry, sleek lighting and understated hardware.  The combination provides a sophisticated backdrop tailored to complement the client’s art collection.

Elegant yet understated furnishings were selected, creating a serene atmosphere that feels both curated and comfortable.

The design features a warm earthy colour palette to suit a classic period building with a modern twist.  When balanced with neutrals such as soft creams, warm taupes and muted gold the palette feels rich without being overwhelming.

Every detail was considered, from the selection of furniture, fabrics and marbles to the custom joinery, all of which were curated and designed by Tania to create a space that feels both elevated and inviting.
